Crop Plans & Seed Calculations

Crop Plans are the core building block of seasonal farm operations in AgroOps. A crop plan defines targets for crops, varieties, acreage, sowing windows, and required inputs.

Creating a Crop Plan

  1. Navigate to Crop Plans > New Crop Plan.
  2. Fill in the plan header:
    • Plan Name: e.g., "Wheat Rabi 2026-27 Cluster A".
    • Crop & Variety: e.g., HD-2967 High Yield.
    • Season: Kharif, Rabi, or Zaid.
    • FPO / Organization: Assigned regional unit.
  3. Define the land allocation:
    • Total Target Area: in Acres or Hectares.
    • Participating Farmers: Select individual farmers or auto-allocate by cluster.

Seed Calculation Engine

AgroOps automatically computes exact seed requirement values:

Total Seed Required (kg) = Target Acreage × Seed Rate (kg/acre) × (1 + Buffer Percentage)

Configuration Options

  • Row Spacing & Plant Density: Custom spacing settings for mechanized sowing versus manual transplanting.
  • Germination Multiplier: When germination rating is lower than 85%, AgroOps flags an advisory and adjusts the seed quantity upwards.
  • Packaging Rounding: The system automatically converts calculated kilograms into standard bag units (e.g. 20 kg bags or 40 kg sacks).

Publishing & Allocation

Once reviewed by the lead agronomist, click Publish Crop Plan. Publishing:

  1. Locks the acreage and seed demand.
  2. Posts reservations against the matching seed inventory batches.
  3. Makes the plan visible to field operators for farmer allocation.
